Sant Ambroggio and Lune Duharas took their respective divisions of the Prospect Series at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday night (Sept. 3).
Sant Ambroggio opened the card with a coast-to-coast victory in the $7,000 division for two-year-old trotting fillies. The daughter of Wheeling N Dealin grabbed the lead from post three in the shortened field and faced no pressure through fractions of :29.4, 1:01 and 1:30.2 to win in 2:00.3 by three-quarter lengths over pocket-sitter Shes Hilarious. Mass Envy finished third and Savannahs Dream took fourth after breaking at the start.
Dan O'Brian owns and trains Sant Ambroggio, who won her second race from eight starts. She has earned $10,876. The winner paid $3.40.
Lune Duharas sat a pocket trip and pounced to land a nose decision in the $7,100 split for three-year-old trotting fillies. Driver Loic Gueriel drafted with Lune Duharas behind tempo-setter Self Important through a clip of :27.4, :59 and 1:28.3 before lifting. In the straightaway, she reeled in Self Important to land in front in a 1:58.3 mile. Okeeheelee finished third and Sayonara Angel took fourth.
Denis Gueriel trains Lune Duharas, a daughter of Muscle Mass owned and bred by Haras De L'Estrie Inc. She won her fourth race from 14 starts and has now earned $31,976. Lune Duharas paid $12 to win.
