Time To Win For Time To Kill?

Published: September 4, 2013 01:47 pm EDT

Time To Kill has picked up cheques in the Hambletonian Oaks and Hudson Filly but victory in 2013 has thus far eluded the trotting filly who makes her next start in the $40,000 Helen Smith Final on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Freehold Raceway.

Time To Kill drew post four in the field of six New Jersey-sired three-year-old trotting fillies in the third race co-feature. She is the 2-1 morning line favourite.

A quartet of New Jersey-sire two-year-old trotting fillies will go postward in the $56,525 Marion Dancer Final which will take place off the betting card at 12:15 p.m.

Both the Smith and the Dancer are sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.

At two, Time To Kill posted four wins and six seconds from 12 starts, banking more than $350,000. This year the Ross Croghan trainee has added $58,361 to push her total over $410,000 but has yet to hit the board in 12 starts.

Some of it has to do with chasing Bee A Magician in the open filly trots like the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks, where Time To Kill finished fourth.

The daughter of Muscles Yankee will be teamed with Jim Pantaleano in the Smith Final. She races in the name of Let It Ride Stables and Robert Cooper Stables, both of Boca Raton, FL, and J&T Silva Stables of Long Beach, NY.

The $40,000 Helen Smith finalists:

Chocolate Crisp carries a three-race winning streak and Shelikescandy is winless in two tries.
