Day 1 of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society's 2012 Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale got underway Monday, September 3 at the sales pavilion located at Woodbine Racetrack.
A total of 48 yearlings were sold on Day 1 (Selected Session 1), the same number of yearlings that were sold during the first day of the 2011 sale.
In 2011, the gross for Selected Session 1 was $1,322,000, with an average price of $27,542 and a median price of $23,000. For Selected Session 1 of this year's edition of the sale, the gross was $1,001,000, the average price was $20,854 and the median price was $18,000.

Selected Session 2 will get underway on Tuesday, September 4 at 1:00 p.m.
