Day 2 of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society's 2012 Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale was presented Tuesday, September 4 at the sales pavilion located at Woodbine Racetrack.
A total of 107 yearlings were sold on Day 2 (Selected Session 2), seven more than the number of yearlings that were sold during the second day of the 2011 sale.
In 2011, the gross for Selected Session 2 was $3,481,500, with an average price of $34,815 and a median price of $25,000. For Selected Session 2 of this year's edition of the sale, the gross was $2,941,000, the average price was $27,486 and the median price was $18,000.
The overall numbers for last year’s 2011 Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale included a total of 148 yearlings selling for a gross of $4,803,500. The median was $25,000 and the average was $32,456. This year’s total sold was 155 with a gross of $3,942,000, a median of $18,000 and an average of $25,432.
