Super Chapter remained No. 1 and was joined in the Top 10 by two newcomers in the Week 16 edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, released on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Super Chapter and Brandon Blvd, who both were idle, stayed 1-2 in the rankings for the third consecutive week and were followed by Caesars Trotting Classic (Grade 2) winner On To Norway, Canadian Trotting Classic (Grade 1) runner-up Apex, in a swap of positions three and four, and Ohio Breeders Championship division winner Big Ranger in fifth.
The second half of the Top 10 featured newcomers Redland Rocket Man at No. 7 and Miss Jum Jabber at No. 9.
Redland Rocket Man won the Little Brown Jug (Grade 1) and added 88 points to his previous total in Week 15. Miss Jum Jabber, who was just outside the Top 10 last week, was idle but gained five points.
Miki And Minnie and Nezuko Kamado S dropped from the Top 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the United States Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus U.S. Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
