Three-year-old trotting colt Daylon Magician earned his seventh straight victory and third Ontario Sires Stakes Gold trophy of the season on a cool, windy Friday night at Grand River Raceway

.

Fresh off a 1:57.2 track record performance over a sloppy track in his elimination last week, OSS divisional leader Daylon Magician left from Post 3 in tonight's $130,000 final with Jack Moiseyev in the sulky and worked his way to the lead during the :28.1 opening quarter. Once the son of Kadabra-Daylon Marvel settled on top, he cruised past middle stations of :58 and 1:28.1 and soared to victory in 1:58.1 over the sloppy track. Imperial Count (Scott Zeron) followed from the pocket to place, one and three-quarter lengths behind, while Delcrest Julian (Rick Zeron) came on for third.

Dave Lemon of Komoka, Ont. bred, owns and trains the millionaire trotter, who has accumulated 11 wins in 13 starts this season, including the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic at Mohawk Racetrack on Sept. 17.

Daylon Magician paid $2.60 to win as the 1-9 favourite.
