After an early tussle for the lead, Stormont Kate made the front from post four and carved out panels of :27.3, :57.4 and 1:27 before fighting off a stern challenger from April Rose to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:56.2. Muscle Matters followed over four lengths behind in third.

Stormont Kate notched her sixth win of the season from 23 starts and pushed her bankroll to $56,257. Lifetime, the six-year-old daughter of Kadabra has won 24 races and $265,198 in purses.

In the $11,000 Preferred 2 Pace, Lets Wait And See ($13.10) tracked Thorn In Your Side from the pocket through fractions of :27.2, :56.2 and 1:25 before getting the last dig in to score the 1:53.4 victory by three-quarters of a length. He closed through the passing lane while his rivals fanned out wide turning for home. Colin Kelly drove the six-year-old Shadow Play gelding, who is trained by Scott Friend and owned by Gordon Hart. Classy Hill finished third ahead of Who Doesnt.

Stepping up off a victory at the Preferred 3 level over Grand River Raceway, Lets Wait And See notched his sixth win of the year from 29 starts and pushed his annual income to $39,374. A 16-time career winner, he now has $145,514 in overall earnings.
