Driver Ryan Ellis had the hot hands on Sunday afternoon at Truro Raceway as he reined home five winners during the 12-race card.

Ellis set the tone for the day with a victory in the first race aboard Push Back ($3.70) for trainer Dale Pinkney. The 32-year-old horseman was back in the spotlight in race four as he steered Xlb Chili ($6.70) to victory lane for conditioner Neil Campbell Jr. Hollis White trainee M M Lass ($9.70) provided the reinsman with his third win of the day in the eighth race and his own Encore Seelster ($3.90) gave him the grand slam in race 10. Secret Fantasy ($3), trained by Wayne Merner, closed out the card with a win to conclude Ellis' five-bagger.

Ellis is enjoying a career-best season with his Sunday victories pushing his seasonal win total past his 2011 career-high score of 49. The Brookfield, N.S. resident has won 52 times this year and sits atop the drivers' standings at Truro Raceway.
