Tuesdays With Mom turned in a sparkling performance on Friday night at Tioga Downs in the final division of the New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old filly trotters for New York King Jim Morrill Jr.
Morrill sent the daughter of Credit Winner-Prince Deanna to the front through an opening quarter of :27.3. From there, the duo kept Radiant One (Bruce Ranger) parked out through fractions of :58.1, and 1:26 before coasting home in front of the field by open lengths in 1:55.1.
The mile dropped more than three seconds off the previous lifetime mark for Tuesdays With Mom, and with the lion’s share of the $31,175 purse, she increased her seasonal bankroll to more than $108,000. Tuesdays With Mom is trained and owned by Peter Arrigenna, and the sophomore trotter has never been worse than second in her sixteen lifetime starts, that includes 10 wins.
Morrill also captured the fourth division in impressive fashion with Impressive Kemp using a first over brush to capture her second straight win at Tioga Downs in 1:56.3 for Noel Daley. Other sire stakes division winners on Friday night included Show Your Lindys in 1:57.4 (Jim Morrill Jr.), Platinumatic in 1:57.1 (Howard Okusko Jr.), and Munis Blue Chip in 1:57.1 (Jim Morrill Jr.).
Jim Morrill Jr. and Corey Braden each posted driving grand slams on the night’s 12-race card.
Tioga Downs continues live racing on Saturday, September 4 at 6:50 p.m. and will feature the New York Sire Stakes for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers.
