Venerate, the winner of the inaugural Mohawk Million, was the only newcomer — and change — in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. Venerate joined the rankings at No. 10 as Manchego dropped from that spot following her loss in the final of the Miss Versatility Series.
Otherwise, all the horses in the rankings held their positions from last week. Ramona Hill and Tall Dark Stranger, both idle, were '1-2' followed by Jugette winner Party Girl Hill, Caesars Trotting Classic winner Gimpanzee, and idle Shartin N.
Rounding out the top 10 were Caesars Trotting Classic runner-up Atlanta and a trio of idle horses: Ready For Moni, Sorella, and Reflect With Me.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
