Ole Jack Magic was given a change of scenery Thursday evening, and the Jerry Duford trainee responded with a blowout score in the $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs.

Scott Young hustled Ole Jack Magic to the lead from Post 4 and together they led the group through panels of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:28.1. A :29.4 closing panel over a track listed ‘sloppy’ with a three-second allowance propelled the gelding to a seven-length triumph over Brandon CS in 1:58. Covert Operative was third.

The five-year-old son of Kadabra-Whitesand Electra notched his fourth win of the season for owner Home Stretch Holdings Inc of Rockwood, Ont. The homebred is now an 11-time winner with career earnings in excess of $260,000.
