Inspired Art earned his ninth Preferred victory from 10 starts this season in Sunday's final race at St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre for the meet-leading Scott Forward stable.
Inspired Art led his stablemates Dustylane Wildbill and Go With It across the wire in a 1-2-3 finish for Team Forward. The 10-year-old Artiscape gelding won the $535 finale by a length in 2:03.1 with Shane Forward driving for owner Elizabeth Courtney of Maddox Cove, Newfoundland. The victory capped off a training triple on the seven-race program for Scott Forward.
In the $1,000 Meridian Farms-sponsored Newfoundland Stakes, Joanne Forward's filly Silverhill Legacy was the lone contestant in the sophomore split and turned in a 2:14.2 mile to claim the top prize while Wayne Williams' filly Backriver Blaze defeated Char Dan in 2:14.1 to take the freshman division.
