The stars aligned perfectly at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Saturday night (Sept. 26) for the winner of the featured $15,500 Open Pace, Stars Align A.
Driver Dan Noble put the mild favourite on the point throughout the 1:50 mile, posting fractions of :26.1, :54.1 and 1:21.3 before holding off a cavalry charge of classy opponents in 1:50 flat.
Fan Of Terror slipped through along the pylons to grab the place position, and Bllack Hole flew in the stretch to finish third from an outside starting position.
Stars Align A is owned by D Racing Stable, Yves Sarrazin and Bruce Soulsby. Trained by Noble’s wife Christi, the seven-year-old son of Art Major increased his seasonal bounty to over $76,000 with his sixth win in 18 starts.
Excitement is building at Hollywood Dayton for next Saturday’s marquee events night, featuring three Dayton Derbies for purses of at least $175,000. Many of the sports best older Grand Circuit pacers and trotters are expected.
The undercard will feature eight $60,000 Buckeye Stallion Series championships showcasing top Ohio-sired freshman and sophomore trotter and pacers.
