Driver Marc St Louis, Jr. entered the Sunday (Sept. 27) card at Leamington Raceway three wins shy of a career plateau.
Midway through the 10-race card, St Louis, Jr. steered 4-5 favourite Jessicas Legacy to a 1:57.2 victory in the afternoon’s fifth race. Then St Louis, Jr. reached the cusp, scoring in the eighth race by open lengths with 8-5 favourite The Loan Ranger. With one more drive left on the card, St Louis, Jr. hit the 2,000-win mark with a pocket-popping performance in the final race on the day—driving 9-1 shot Mynameisalanto a 2:02 victory.
St Louis, Jr. currently sits atop the driver rankings at Leamington Raceway with 33 wins. The Michigan native, beginning his driving career in 2005, has made nearly 9,000 starts and accrued $7,388,855 in earnings.
