It has been reported that Delaware’s department of agriculture is currently conducting a study which could ultimately change the percentages that the State, Delaware casinos and the horse racing industry receive from slot machines revenue.

An article by The News Journal has cited state agriculture secretary Ed Kee as saying that the study should be completed by the end of 2014.

An aspect of the report explains that one of the variables which is being analyzed is the amount of purse money that Delaware-based horsepeople are racing for in neighbouring states.

The article has cited Dover Democrat Senator Brian Bushweller as saying that the amount of out-of-state purses that the horsepeople are racing for should be taken into account when a long-term fix for Delaware is considered.
