Oakridge Rambler Wires Marquis Open

Oakridge Rambler delivered a gate-to-wire victory in the $1,800 Open Pace at Marquis Downs for driver Bill Tainsh, Jr. and trainer-owner Deborah Manning of Edmonton, AB.

The six-year-old gelded son of Firm Friend-Pamojen left from Post 1 and led his rivals past stations of :28.2, 1:01 and 1:30.2 en route to victory in 2:02.1. Dance Step (Greg Manning) rallied off cover to finish second, three-quarter of a length behind, and Tajwon (Glenn LeDrew) closed from last to get third.

The win was Oakridge Rambler's ($4.90) third in 12 starts and bumped his earnings to $16,383 for 2010 and $67,011 lifetime.
