Mariner Seelster was the sale topper at Sunday’s Forest City Yearling Sale at Western Fair Agriplex in London, Ont. fetching a bid of $102,000

Jeff Gillis of Hillsburgh, Ont. purchased Hip 156 Mariner Seelster, a son of Camluck out of $451,635 winner M T Freedom, from the consignment of Seelster Farms.
A Camluck-Platinum Seelster filly consigned by Seelster Farms also garnered a $100,000 bid. Hip 130 Phoenix Seelster, a full sister to this year’s Battle of Waterloo winner Prodigal Seelster ($243,205), was purchased by agent David Menary of Cheltenham, Ont.
A total of 267 yearlings sold for more than $4.64 million resulting in an average price of $17,381. Last year's average was $19,942, resulting in a decline of almost 13 per cent.
