Clic K, with Brian MacPhee catch-driving, won the Saturday feature in 1:54.3 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
MacPhee hustled the Jackie Matheson trainee to the point in the $2,400 Preferred and laid down fractions of :27, :55.3 and 1:24.4 before cruising home to win by one length over Nogreatmishief (Gary Chappell) and Ramblinglily (Ken Murphy). It was Clic K’s second victory in a row and fourth of the season for ownership team Plo Stable of Donaugh, P.E.I.
Jason Hughes and Adam Merner each made two trips to the winner’s circle. Hughes had his picture taken with Spirit Of America for owner Robi Hughes of Stratford, P.E.I., and Silverhill Buddy for Joanne MacRae and David Myers of Charlottetown.
Merner teamed up with trainer for Ron Gass for both of his scores. Plumbing Princess earned her third in a row for Shelley and Alexix Gass of Cornwall, P.E.I., while Beaus Cowboy made it back-to-back triumphs for Merner and owner Alex MacPhee, also of Cornwall.
