The 2020 season has been kind to trainer Anne Marie Turenne considering she’s sent out more winners and banked more money than any other year in her career.
She helped bolster her impressive stats with a four-win performance during Thursday’s 10-race card at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Turenne got the ball rolling with Genesee, who rallied for a 1:53.2 triumph in Race 4. She was back to victory lane two races later thanks to the front-stepping skill of pacer Barn One. The son of Sportswriter went down the road en route to stopping the teletimer in 1:54.4.
Turenne would later sweep the Late Double with Badstormanyport (1:53) and Its Eds Idea (1:54.4) to complete the training Grand Slam.
So it’s now 29 wins and counting on the season for Turenne, who has watched her barn bank over $150,000 in earnings this season. She’s a 73-time winner over the course of a career that includes racking up earnings of just shy of $400,000.
Turenne's big day and all of the other highlights from Thursday's card are captured below in this week's edition of 'Rideau in Ten':
