The Washington state Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of the ban on internet gambling in a unanimous decision handed down yesterday

.

The court ruled that the Washington state legislature had “balanced public policy concerns and determined the interests of Washington are best served by banning internet gambling.”

Opponents of the ban, including former U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato, now representing the Pokers Players Alliance, say they will take the case to federal courts and pursue it to the U.S. Supreme Court if possible.

The Kentucky Supreme Court yesterday sent the case on outlawing 141 gambling domain names back to the trial court “until the circuit court determines that the domain owners or registrants establish standing to proceed on a writ action.”
