
Huntress is now two-for-two in the Mares Open Pace at Harrington Raceway as she won her third straight race in the $24,657 event on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Huntress was sent for the lead immediately from post six by Allan Davis and set fractions of :27.1, :56 and 1:24.1 with no serious pressure until late en route to her eighth win of the season in 1:52.4. Jett Propelled (Jason Thompson) closed late for second while Lofty Treasure (Pat Berry) was third.
Huntress notched her 45th career win in 98 starts while raising her bankroll to $546,570. The seven-year-old Huntsville-Love And Honor mare pushed her seasonal earnings to $142,308 in 16 starts, surpassing last season's total. She is owned by Manklin Creek LLC. The win price was $3.
The win was one of four on the card for Davis.
Mike Casalino's Lil Miss Wondrphyl ($2.40, Corey Callahan) won her fourth straight race in 1:54.3, warding off a game challenge from runner-up Watching Brief N (Art Stafford Jr.). A Rooma Zoom Zoom (Cody Poliseno) was third. The winning Dylan Davis trainee notched her fourth win in six career starts.
