'Elecktrah' Goes From Last To First

Premier Elecktrah made up a 10 length deficit as she advanced from last to first in the featured $7,200 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace on Thursday night at Hiawatha Horse Park

.

Outside starter Premier Elecktrah and driver Mark Williams trailed the field early on before picking up cover from Miss Maverick (Ron Henderson). Williams then fired the 3-1 third choice three-wide past the third quarter mark and she charged home in :28.4 to prevail by two and three-quarter lengths in 1:53.4.

Miss Maverick finished second with pocket-sitter Artistic Heart (Don Rankin Jr.) third. Stonebridge Celest (Nick Steward), who carved out the fractions of :26.4, :56 and 1:24.3, ended up fourth.

Premier Elecktrah paid $8.80 to win for the third time in 12 starts this season. She has earned $17,530 of her $224,383 bankroll this year. Kim Lezanchuk shares ownership of the six-year-old Million Dollar Cam-Up Your Sleeve mare with fellow Brantford, ON resident, trainer Michael Ellis.
