Freshmen Shine At Tioga In Reynolds

Tioga Downs played host to the W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stakes on Friday (Sept. 20) evening with eight races dedicated to freshman trotters and pacers. 

Twisted Destiny ($2.40) won the first division for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers as The Solicitor, with a $52,027 purse. He clocked the mile in 1:51.4, winning by three-quarters of a length with Jason Bartlett in the bike for trainer Chris Ryder and owners Let It Ride Stables Inc., Odds On Racing, Alberg Racing, and Enviro Stables Ltd. He is a two-year-old son of Bettors Wish - Tug River Princess.

Manolete ($4.00) was the second The Solicitor divisional winner after Braxten Boyd steered him to a one length triumph in 1:52.2. Bruce Saunders trains the Cattlewash - Glancewithme horse for M And L Of Delaware LLC and M&M Harness Racing LLC. The race also carried a $52,027 purse.

In The Judge Moore for freshman male trotters, Go Boom won by a length in 1:57.3. Winning the lion's share of the $46,014 purse, the Muscle Hill - Ilia horse was piloted by Mattias Melander for Marcus Melander and owners Amg Stable Inc., Mantorp LLC, Heights Stable, and Fredrik Nielsen.

The second The Judge Moore class, worth $45,338, Braxten Boyd took Marcus Melander's Variegated ($2.50, pictured above) home to win by a head in 1:56.3. S R F Stable owns the son of Chapter Seven - White Cheetah.

Shes A Shoe In ($7.10) won The Meda, worth $38,469, for freshman filly trotters by a length in 1:55.3 with Mark MacDonald holding the lines for Ray Schnittker, who co-owns the Greenshoe - Casaubon filly with Ma3 Racing Stable.

Johnathan Ahle piloted trainer Noel Daley's Cloudy Bay Hanover ($10.60) to a quarter length score in 1:58 in the second The Meda division for the young trotting ladies. Allister Stables LLC, Joe Sbrocco & Jaf Racing, Country Club Acres Inc., and Don Latore co-own the Bar Hopping - Chezatter filly as she picked up the winner's share of the $37,793 purse. 

The third of The Meda divisions went to Mimosatomartini S ($6.40), who was piloted by Mattias Melander for Marcus Melander's third training win. Owned by Courant Inc, the Gimpanzee - Zeta Wise As filly won the better half of the $37,3 purse after trotting the mile in 1:57 to win by a head. 

Beach Rules ($2.70) completed the Reynolds Memorial divisions, winning the $80,541 freshman filly pace division, known as The Lorraine, by a whopping 8-3/4 lengths in 1:50.3. Driven by Jason Bartlett, the Sweet Lou - Beady Body filly is trained by Linda Toscano for Conrad Zurich and Purple Haze Stables LLC.

There were also two Jack Rossi Memorial races in memory of the longtime judge at Tioga.

Bullsvillespandemic (Jim Taggert) won the $40,541 Jack Rossi Memorial and claiming series final in 1:53.2. Bullsvillespandemic is four-year-old gelding by Bullville Powerful owned by Crevani Farms and trained by Steve Crevani. 

Dancing Lew (Braxten Boyd) won the $54,054 Jack Rossi Memorial and claiming series final in 1:51.3. Dancing Lew is a six-year-old gelding by A Rocknroll Dance owned by William Emmons and trained by Edgar Clarke.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on for closing night Saturday (Sept. 21) with a 10-race card starting at 6:15 p.m. followed by a large fireworks display.
