Clements Puts On Clinic At Georgian

Dan Clements dominated all drivers when it came to racking up wins at Georgian Downs on Tuesday evening, but when it came to sending out winners trainers Casie Coleman and Rene Allard were a cut above the rest

Clements finished the night with five trips to victory lane, while the Coleman and Allard camps each sent out three winners over the course of the 12-race card.

Clements got the ball rolling in the fourth race with Cardinal Zin (1:53.4), and from there he tacked on wins with Michaels Power (1:57) in Race 6, Smuggler Hall (1:58.1) in Race 7, Partner (1:56.4) in Race 8 and All The Weapons (1:54.3) in Race 11.

He’s quickly closing in on the $1-million mark in seasonal earnings – a feat he’s accomplished in each of the last three years. The career winner of 2,112 races is closing in on $17 million in lifetime earnings.

As for Coleman, she kicked off the card winning with Shark Ingested (1:52) before adding wins with Michaels Power (1:57) in Race 6 and Partner (1:56) in Race 8. The Cambridge, ON resident is in the midst of her eighth consecutive season of banking more than $1 million in earnings.

Allard’s hat trick consisted of wins with The Steelman (1:52) in Race 2, Aaron Andover (1:58.4) in Race 10 and Rods Famous Ribs (1:55.1) in the finale. The 2011 season marks the third consecutive season in which horses trained by the Quebec native have banked in excess of $2-million in earnings. The career winner of 1,161 races is quickly closing in on $9-million in purse earnings.
