Rebounding from his first loss in over a year, Inspired Art returned to his winning ways with a season's best effort in Sunday's Preferred Pace at St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre.
Inspired Art (Shane Forward) was a dominate wire-to-wire winner in the $535 top class, scoring by eight and a half lengths in 2:00.1 over stablemate Dustylane Wildbill (Brad Forward), who had ended his streak last weekend.
The Artiscape gelding is now eight-for-nine in his 10-year-old campaign for owner Elizabeth Courtney of Maddox Cove, Newfoundland.
Inspired Art was the Scott Forward stable's fourth winner of the day. Counted among Forward's victories was three-year-old pacing filly Silverhill Legacy's 2:13.4 mile in the single-horse $1,000 Newfoundland & Labrador Standardbred Breeders Association Stakes event, which opened the seven-race card.
The two-year-old stakes division was a match race and went to the Terrence Williams-trained and driven filly Backriver Blaze, a 2:15 winner by five lengths over the other contender Char Dan.
