Grey Clouds and Dan Daley took the $7,500 featured trot on Saturday (Sept. 2) at Vernon Downs.
Valotta Love (John MacDonald) took the early lead and Grey Clouds went to the front just before hitting the first quarter in :27.3. He used a :30.4 second quarter breather to get to the half in :57.3 and cruised to three-quarters in 1:27.2. As they reached the stretch, Valotta Love went to the outside and Telenovela (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) slipped through on the inside making it three across the track. Grey Clouds dug in to win, equalling his lifetime best of 1:56.1. Valotta Love was second best and Telenovela finished third.
Grey Clouds ($14.80) is a four-year-old gelding by Chapter Seven. Trained by Dan Daley, he is owned by Ann-Mari Daley and Jared Daley. It was his fourth win this season and career victory number nine.
Leading driver John MacDonald drove three winners on the card, giving him 71 on the season.
