Harness racing action returned to Flamboro Downs on Thursday evening, and Delcrest Massy welcomed back racing fans with a gate-to-wire score in the $7,500 Preferred 3 Trot.
Alfie Carroll hustled Delcrest Massy to the top from Post 4, and the 1-9 favourite rolled the field through fractions of :29.3, :59.4 and 1:29.3 before using a :29.1 kicker to win by 3-1/2 lengths over Kennel Buddy in 1:58.4. Princess Crown took home the show dough in the six-horse affair.
Victor Puddy trains the four-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Armbro Balandra for Keith Cassell of Smiths Falls, Ont. The gelding has banked more than $60,000 this season while posting a 7-7-3 record from 26 trips to the track. The 11-time winner has stashed away $125,465 to date.
