Jeffery Clark's Springforth prevailed in Tuesday's $17,000 Mares Open and equalled a track record in the process with a 1:52 victory.

Springforth matched the four-year-old mare track record, co-held by Lorrie Please. The daughter of Artiscape-Spring Morning and driver George Dennis sat behind pacesetter Monochromatic throughout fractions of :27.3, :55.4, and 1:24.1 before outkicking the favourite in the lane en route to pulling off the 6-1 upset.

Trained by owner Clark, Springforth received an identical journey last week and finished second to Embassy Seelster, who finished third this time around.

Tony Morgan had four winners on the program. Allan Davis had a driving triple, while Montrell Teague recorded a double.
