Six horses and geldings took the track on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Flamboro Downs in the Preferred Pace and Hunter Hill swept the race from start to finish to take the winner's share of the $11,000 purse.

Hunter Hill (Daryl Thiessen) left from the center of the field and kept on going to take command of the timer through panels in :27.2, :55.3 and 1:24. Favoured Dontpokethedragon (Travis Cullen) pulled from the pocket and charged towards the leader, but Hunter Hill made one last lunge at the wire to hold on to the win in a photo finish. A winner at the wire by a nose, Hunter Hill stopped the timer in 1:52.2. Counter Offer (Michael Whelan) rounded out the top three.

Scott West owns and trains the six-year-old gelded son of Somebeachsomewhere and the American Ideal mare, Ali Blue. Hunter Hill has four seasonal wins from 24 starts and 16 career wins. He moved his career sum to $166,760. Off at odds of 6-1 as the third choice, he paid $13.10 to win.
