Best Head West ($5.40) with Montrell Teague was a 1:54.1 winner in the $20,000 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Harrington Raceway, notching her third straight victory.
Owned by Let It Ride Stable and Bottom Ling Racing, the five-year-old Bettors Delight daughter successfully ascended in class off two conditioned level wins in Pennsylvania and Delaware. She charged first-over confidently to clear pacesetter Majorca N and open up on the field for her ninth win of the year. Trained by Mike Hall, Best Head West recorded her 24th career win. Michelles Jazz was second and Tae finished third.
Earlier in the card, Jo Ann Looney-King and Ken Frieder's Legal Jeopardy ($2.80, Ross Wolfenden) notched her fourth straight win for trainer Jim King Jr. in 1:54.4. The Stay Hungry sophomore filly was an easy winner in a $13,500 conditioned pace and it was one of four wins on the card for Wolfenden.
Jim Morand had a driving triple.
