Driver Wayne MacLean kept his strategy real simple as he headed to the front of the field and never looked back en route to winning the $28,400 Young Guns Pacing Series Final on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs aboard four-year-old Real Artist son Real Simple.

Real Simple cleared the lead after the :27.4 opening quarter and cruised past middle markers of :56.1 and 1:25.3 en route to the series win in 1:55.4. France MacLean trainees Flight Night (Paul MacLean), the favourite after winning his second leg division, and Private Practice (Gerry Belanger) finished second and third respectively.

Real Simple paid $7.80 to win as the 5-2 second choice. The bay, a first and second leg winner and third leg runner-up, is trained by Meighan MacLennan for owner Dwight Lamkey of Black River Bridge, N.B. He has won half of his 16 starts this season while earning $44,650.
