Emmylou Who and Wilsonator were victorious in front-stepping fashion over a very sloppy strip at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday evening, as three-year-old trotting fillies sparred in a set of $40,000 O.S.S.

Gold Series eliminations.

Emmylou Who parked past the quarter pole in :29.1 before finding the lead and laying down panels of :58.3 and 1:28.4 en route to her 1:58.3 decision in the first elimination. Trainer/driver Lyle MacArthur drew off to win by 6-1/4 lengths with the Ken Warkentin-Emerald Seelster miss, who easily defeated runner-up Levis Lady (Mario Baillargeon) and third-place finisher Cross Of Lorraine (Jody Jamieson), who was sent off as the 2-5 favourite.

Sent off as the 5-2 second choice in the wagering, Emmylou Who improved her 2010 record to 3-5-2 in 13 starts with the win. She has banked more than $294,000 for the Ontario partnership of Linda Wellwood, Tammy Aspden, Anne Shunock and Diane Ingham.

Wilsonator went wire-to-wire for driver Scott Zeron in her elimination, laying down fractions of :29, :59 and 1:29.1 before scooting home in :29.2 for the 1:58.3 triumph. It was 1-3/4 length back to runner-up Random Destiny (Riina Rekila), with No Magic To It (Trevor Ritchie) rounding out the top three finishers.

Rob Fellows trained the Kadabra-Sahalee miss for partners Michael Pozefsky of Gloversville, NY and Edward Wilson of Seagrave, ON. It was the filly’s fifth win of the season in 12 trips postward, and the $20,000 payday boosted her overall earnings to $400,749.

The top four finishers from each of the eliminations and one of the fifth-place finishers will line up behind the starting gate for next Thursday’s final. The post draw went as follows:
