Plainridge Park’s leading driver, Brett Beckwith, was red hot again at The Ridge on Monday (Sept. 15) as he put on a dominant performance by winning six races on the card, including a natural hat trick in races three, four and five.

Beckwith won with Full Metal Jacket (1:53.4, $2.60) in a new lifetime mark, One Bettor (1:54.1, $15.80) who scored her first lifetime win, Ten Tothedozen A (1:50.3, $5.60) who had his fastest outing of the season, Moni Man (1:54.4, $5.60) who also took a new lifetime mark, Fourever Boy (1:49.4, $2.60) who went the fastest mile of the day and Poker Sy (1:52.2, $3.00) who won his third consecutive race.

Beckwith also had two seconds and a third from his 11 starts giving him a stellar .677 UDR for the afternoon.

The one race Beckwith didn't win was the $34,722 Open pace that went to Two Fold Cold, who brushed late for the victory.

Two Fold Cold (David Ingraham) got away third as Tenzing Bromac N (Ron Cushing) and Binge On Yankee (Brett Beckwith) traded leads to the :26.3 quarter. Now firmly in control, Binge On Yankee got to the half in :54.4 and three-quarters in 1:22.2 as Tenzing Bromac N and Two Fold Cold continued to follow. But that changed in the last turn when Cushing pulled Tenzing Bromac N and Ingraham followed his lead with Two Fold Cold. When the group entered the stretch, Two Fold Cold tipped three-deep around Tenzing Bromac N and blasted past both him and Binge On Yankee to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:50, which was a new lifetime mark.

Two Fold Cold ($5.40) is owned by Marc Tardif while the four-year-old gelded son of Deuce Seelster-Snow Cone A is trained by Kelly Case.

The leading trainer on Monday was Paul Kelley who sent two winners to post and both were Massachusetts-bred trotters who will be competing in the lucrative $2.4 million (USD) Massachusetts Breeders Stakes that start at Plainridge Park on Monday (Sept. 29). Kelley’s winners were Onthemoneyhoney (1:57, $93.20) and Moni Man (1:54.4, $4.00).

Live racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (Sept. 16) at 2 p.m. with a $3,854 USD carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 wager in race six.
