Odds-on favourite Chaleurs Ad collected back-to-back victories in the $8,600 Preferred Pace when winning on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

The seven-year-old Riggins gelding cleared command from the outermost post in the field of six. He paced fractions of :27, :56.3 and 1:24.4 while facing brief first-over challenge from Saulsbrook Lanny moving to three-quarters. That challenger retreated, leaving Bestofbest Hanover as the only threat to Chaleurs Ad through the lane. The pocket-sitter dug into the pacesetter but finished a half-length shy of victory at the finish with Ufdragons Rocket taking third.

Owned by Ecuries Maguire Inc., Chaleurs Ad won his eighth race from 19 starts this season and his 37th from 97 overall, surpassing $100,000 in earnings. Guy Gagnon trains and drives the $3.90 winner.

Ghirardelli Lindy took the $8,600 Preferred Trot by a neck as the longest shot on the board in 1:57.1.

Odds-on favourite Pasadena Star took the lead while Hldontghttoyurdrms protected position for second and Revenue Agent race third. Ghirardelli Lindy sat fourth through a :27.3 opening quarter and stayed put through a :57.3 half and three-quarters in 1:26.4. Driver Richard Simard then rolled the 10-year-old Chocolatier gelding through the stretch after the leader to recoup three lengths while sticking a neck in front on the finish. Pasadena Star settled for second while Revenue Agent took third.

Returning $32.80 to win, Ghirardelli Lindy competes for owner Saul Mendelson. He won his third race from 17 starts this season and his 39th from 232 overall, earning $238,491. Robert Dube trains the winner.
