Dough Dough made the front via a quarter-pole move and held firm from there as she captured Tuesday’s $15,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life Trot at the Meadows.
Dough Dough was away third when Dick Stillings sent her to the lead. The five-year-old daughter of CR Excalibur-Rising Dough easily thwarted the first-over bid of Broadway Socks and rolled home in 1:54.4, 1-1/4 lengths better than Kandian Club. The pocket-sitting Whata Donato earned show.
J.W. Miller trains Dough Dough, who collected her third win in her last four starts and extended her career bankroll to $117,115, for owner/breeder En Mar Stable.
Dave Palone piloted four winners and Aaron Merriman three on the 14-race card.
Wednesday’s program at The Meadows features the $170,000 Nadia Lobell for three-year-old filly pacers. Among the competitors are Bettor Be Steppin, who took the $350,000 Valley Forge, and Safe From Terror, 45-1 upset winner of the $350,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championship. The Nadia Lobell goes as race six, with first post at 12:55 p.m.
