The catalogue and past performances for the inaugural Lexington Selected Mixed Sale are now available at lexingtonselected.com and on the Equineline Sales Catalog app.

Those on the mailing list should receive print catalogues and race lines later in the coming week.

The sale gets underway Sunday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Lexington’s Fasig-Tipton Pavilion, following the afternoon’s Kentucky Futurity Day races at Red Mile.

With 115 head catalogued, co-manager Randy Manges said he was extremely pleased with the initial response by sellers and the overall quality in the book. “Not only did we get a great selection of racehorses, but our in-foal mares and stallion shares are simply outstanding,” Manges said.

Co-manager David Reid agreed, adding, “Every breeder in the industry will want to make it a point to be here when they see what’s selling.”

There are 39 broodmares in the sale, in foal to such leading sires as Muscle Hill, Captaintreacherous, Walner, Chapter Seven and Huntsville, plus nine stallion shares including Muscle Hill, Father Patrick, Captaintreacherous and others.

The racehorse section of the sale is also “must-see,” Reid said. There are a significant number of multiple stakes winning two- and three-year-olds, including freshman Ontario standouts CT Conabra and Cambridge Kate, and sophomores such as last week’s Ohio Sires Stakes Final winner Impinktoo, The Veteran, and What A Knockout.

“This is a sale that will give something back,” Reid said, referring to sale proceeds going to support the new $1-million two-year-old trot at Red Mile. “It lays a perfect foundation to build upon. With the success we’re expecting, you’ll see it grow every year.”
