Eight trotters went postward in Tuesday’s $10,000 Preferred Trot at Kawartha Downs, and despite sitting seventh at the mid-way point Im Fabulous went home a winner
.
Paired up with trainer/driver Doug Hie, Im Fabulous sat near the back of the bus while Americanadian (Aaron Byron) supplied early splits of :27.4 and :58.1. Parkhill Fantasia (Reg Gassien) prompted the leader up the backstretch before taking over the lead at the three-quarter pole in 1:28.3. Im Fabulous was three-wide and driving for Hie at that point.
A :30.1 final quarter was enough to propel Im Fabulous, who was sent off as the 7-5 favourite, to the one-length score over Parkhill Fantasia. Tequila Slammer (Tomas Dalborg) grabbed the show dough.
Fabulous Farms LLC of Verona, NJ holds the ownership papers on the five-year-old daughter of Andover Hall-Lady Hawk Ambrosio. It was her second consecutive victory and the 11th of her career. The mare has banked in excess of $81,000 to date.
