Rookies and sophomores unite Thursday evening in All Star Cresting Prospect Trot Series action at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has 12 dashes slated for a 6 p.m. opening post time with the first $3,200 division of the All Star Cresting Trot Series lining up in race two.

Oceanview Chip is the top selection in that event as the three-year-old son of Lookslikeachpndale rides into the dash on the heels of two second-place finishes from the Melissa Rennie stable. Bill Roloson of Belfast, P.E.I. bred and co-owns the trotter with co-owner Joey Aylward of St. Louis, P.E.I., while Ken Murphy will handle his duties in the driver’s seat. The field includes another duo of three-year-old trotters along with two-year-old trotting talent WL Roseys Rocket (Jason Hughes) and Howmac Swanky (Mike McGuigan).

The other Allstar Cresting Prospect Trot Series division is in race four with another product of Oceanview Farms as the top choice in post four entry Oceanview Flanny (Murphy) for trainer Rennie and owners Bill and Scott Roloson, and Princeton Farms Inc., of Princeton, Ont. The mixed field of two and three-year-old trotters has rookie filly Cardigan Cutie (Corey MacPherson), sired by Mill Hill Willie, as second choice off the rail, along with three-year-old Angus Hall filly Mill Hill Aggie (Paul Morrison) as third choice from post two.

The evening finale in race 12 carries a $2,200 purse with a full field of pacing mares featuring Super Hi-5 wagering. Ms Moyse is the morning line favourite with Mark Bradley in the race bike for trainer Rennie with post three for the ownership group of Olivia May, Quaid Hately and Andrew Cameron, all of Charlottetown. Her chief rivals are listed as post four starter Fluentocity (David Dowling) and post seven entry Psili Ammos (Kenny Arsenault).

The "Post Time Picks" has backed Ms Moyse to score her fourth win of the season in the evening finale: “Ms Moyse was on the edges last time out and couldn’t deliver as the chalk choice. Drops another notch and is going to turn it around at some point so she could flip the script tonight.”

The nightcap field also includes Southern Heart (Hughes), Evening Maelstrom (Murphy), Topville Angelina (Gilles Barrieau), Traces Of Purple (Myles Heffernan Sr.) and Miss Sangria (MacPherson).
