Grinding a gritty first-over journey, Time To Dance kept his win streak alive in the featured event Saturday night (Sept. 12) on the second half of a special Saturday doubleheader at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
In his fourth-straight victory, Time To Dance was launched first up by driver Marc Campbell heading to the half towards pacesetter Rose Run Quest, and got up for a narrow victory in the stretch drive in 1:53 in the $3,200 Preferred Pace.
Campbell trains Time To Dance for owners Brent Campbell of Charlottetown and Matt McDonald of Edwards, Ont.
The 14-dash card hosted the P.E.I. Colt Stakes for three-year-old pacing colts and fillies in eight $8,400 divisions.
Campbell was the big winner of the evening program with five winners as he steered Joes Beauty to a 1:56.1 win for trainer Stephen Mason in an $8,400 three-year-old pacing filly P.E.I. Colt Stakes split.
Campbell also won both $3,620 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares divisions, sponsored by Standardbred Canada, from his own barn as Dreamfair Zenfire won in 1:55.2 and Arc Light scored in 1:54.4.
Campbell’s other driving win was with the Danny Romo-trained Imalookertoo in 1:55.1 in a $8,400 P.E.I. Colt Stakes three-year-old pacing colt division.
Trainer Tom Weatherbie won a pair of filly divisions with Kiss Me Im Irish (Brodie MacPhee) in 1:55.4 and Live And Let Di (Kenny Arsenault) in 1:55.1. The other filly division was claimed by Saulsbrook Ocean (Dale Spence) in 1:58.1 for trainer Joe Baxter.
The $8,400 P.E.I. Colt Stakes divisions also saw wins by Mr Kelly (Adam Merner) in 1:55.3 from the Ron Gass stable, Tobins Rebel in 1:56 for trainer-driver Barrieau and a 12-1 upset by Little Manny (Stephen Trites) in 1:56.4 from the Charles Miles stable.
