I Know My Chip inched closer to the $1 million earnings plateau winning the $17,500 Open Trot at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Thursday night.
Driver Jeremy Smith sped directly to the front with the seven-year-old son of Deep Chip and cut all the fractions entourage to an impressive 1:53.1 triumph.
The winner is trained by Walter Haynes, Jr. for owners Brian Carsey and John McGill. I Know My Chip is eligible to the $170,000 (est.) Dayton Trotting Derby on Friday, September 27.
Drivers Chris Page and Tyler Smith shared the Thursday spotlight with four wins apiece.
Racing resumes at Hollywood Dayton on Friday and Saturday nights with a 6:15 p.m. post time.
