Clic K, with Gilles Barrieau in the bike, notched his fourth win in a row, with three straight coming on P.E.I. soil, after taking the Saturday night feature in a dazzling 1:54.3 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jackie Matheson does the training for Clic K's owners Plo Stables of Donagh, P.E.I. Barrieau, who also enjoyed a big day at Fredericton Raceway before heading to Red Shores, sent the seven-year-old to the point and laid down fractions of :27.3, :56.2 and 1:26.1 in the $2,400 Preferred 2 Pace before sprinting to the finish to win by open lengths over First Art Down (Ken Murphy) and McJestic (Corey MacPherson).
In other action, Pleasure Girls, handled by Corey MacPherson who had two victories on the card, was moved to top place in the $1,950 Open Trot class after the winner Thunderaway was placed second for being inside two consecutive pylons. Majian Chester completed the triactor. Ronnie Gass trains the 10-year-old mare, whose mile time was 2:01.1, for Shelley Gass of Cornwall, P.E.I.
Driver Marc Campbell recorded a hat-trick scoring with Windemere Stanley for owner Kyle Gillis of Truro, N.S., Dusty Lane Msvickie, owned by Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S., and Eagle Jolt for owners Wilbur and Marie MacDonald of Orwell, P.E.I.
Barrieau, MacPherson, Gordie Hennessey and Jason Hughes had driving doubles.
