Mohawk Racetrack hosted a compact, seven-race qualifying session Tuesday morning, and although the docket wasn't chock full of stock, a couple of notable contenders put in miles off of brief layoffs

.

After the Anette Lorentzon-trained and Jason Brewer-driven Adreamcomestrue AS posted a gate-to-wire, 2:01.3 victory in Race 1, driver Jody Jamieson and Warrawee Koine took to the track for Race 2.

Jamieson and the Colin Johnson-trained Warrawee Koine lined up in Post 5 and wasted no time getting down to business. The two-time O'Brien Award winning driver had the five-year-old on the engine early. The black Astreos mare cut the opening quarter in :28.4 before spinning off the opening half mile in :58.1.

Warrawee Koine was up by four lengths when she tripped the three quarters timer in 1:26.1. She cruised home with a :28.4 final quarter and recorded a nine and three-quarter-length win in 1:55.

From 18 starts this year, Warrawee Koine has compiled a record of nine wins, four seconds and two thirds. The multiple Preferred and Open winner has had a productive season in the purse department, as well --- $224,600 of her $444,558 in career earnings have been banked this year. Prior to her qualifying mile on Tuesday, Warrawee Koine hadn't recorded a charted line since July 29.

After Warrawee Koine got done shaking off the rust, Race 3, 4 and 5 were won by Windsong Honey (2:01.3), Twin B Spike Man (1:59) and Your Beautiful (1:56.2), respectively.

Race 6, which housed five starters, saw the David McGinnis-trained and driven Vroom Hanover fire out from third and pace to a one-length win in 1:55.

Vroom Hanover's victory came over the David Menary-trained and Scott Zeron-driven Watermelonwine, who, prior to the dash, hadn't taken part in a charted mile since July 9. During the Tuesday qualifier, the three-year-old Life Sign colt was first-up at the opening quarter and half and had earned the lead on the final turn. Watermelonwine was still on the engine at the seven-eighths-mile mark, but couldn't sustain his momentum and settled for third. He finished one length back of Vroom Hanover and was individually clocked in 1:55.1.

The Casie Coleman-trained and Jody Jamieson-driven Michaels Power triumphed in the final dash of the morning, which was clocked in 1:56.2.
