The Preferred 2 Pace takes centre stage on Sunday, Sept. 14 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with a tightly matched field of five.

Post time for the 13-dash card is 12:30 p.m. (ADT)

The $4,700 feature in race 12 has Impeccable Shadow (Driven by Paul Langille) installed as the 5-2 morning line choice. The Shadow Play gelding was a sharp third to top-class rivals Twin B Tuffenuff and Bee Two Bee in his latest outing, pacing in 1:53. He lands post four with a prime chance to move forward for trainer-driver Langille and owners Dale and Ronnie Rennie Inc., and Melissa Rennie.

Rail starter Navalny gets Brady Sweet in the bike for trainer Jeff Holmes. The former Quebec stakes performer has been rounding back into form and comes off a 1:53.1 clocked performance in his last outing.

Pendleton Rodeo has been a three-time winner this season for trainer-driver Adam Merner from post two.

Four-year-old T H Boomtown lines up from post three for driver David Dowling and trainer Ronald Matheson, while House Edge Hanover (Gilles Barrieau) leaves from the outside post five for the Matheson stable after rallying for third in his last start.

The Post Time Picks go with Impeccable Shadow to win.

“Impeccable Shadow finished a bang-up third to two heavyweights last time out and dodged that elite pair today, so he could get the job done from this favorable post.”

Earlier in the card, the opener carries a $2,900 purse in overnight action. Neptune Seelster (Adam Merner) is the 7-2 morning line third choice from post one after garnering cheques in his last four starts for trainer Michael Gallant. Some of his main opposition comes from Hippyjohn (Kenny Arsenault), a 3-1 pick from post three, and Here Comes Emmett (Gilles Barrieau) leaving from post five at 4-1 for trainer Melvin Gamester. Roy Reynolds pupil Rockin Novel (Marc Campbell) drops a notch for this one to the setting of his last victory and will be the morning line favourite from post two, while Cheekie Play (Corey MacPherson) carries 6-1 odds from post seven after rallying well in his last try. Also in the opener are Fout (Zac Noye) and West Coast Kid (Jason Hughes).
