Windemere Skye Seeks 20th Straight Victory

Windemere Skye and Woodmere Rock It will put their perfect lifetime records on the line this Saturday (Sept. 12) in Atlantic Sires Stakes action as part of a doubleheader at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 10-dash presentation starting at 12:30 p.m. (ADT), as the first part of a doubleheader. The afternoon card features two-year-old pacers in Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' and 'B' divisions. There are 12 dashes in the second card, with a first post of 6 p.m. (ADT), including Atlantic Sires Stakes divisions for three-year-old pacers and a pair of $10,000 Richard Campbell Memorial Invitational races.

Windemere Skye is the 5-2 morning-line favourite in the second $18,240 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division for three-year-old pacing fillies, the ninth race of the evening card. Marc Campbell drives the Earl Watts trainee from post four for owners Windemere Farms of Springvale and Matt Burke of Stratford, P.E.i.

The daughter of Somewhere Fancy is undefeated in 19 lifetime starts and was a 1:53.1 winner in her latest outing during the Lady Slipper Stakes. Covered In Purle (To be driven by Ken Murphy) is the second choice from post three while Alwaysinfullforce (Gilles Barrieau) has the rail.

“Windemere Skye has put together a couple of amazing seasons and when you look at the summary, she’s approaching $200,000 in lifetime earnings. She moves in a couple of spots for this attempt and Campbell will be pushing the pace early so expect her to be on or near the lead at the start and finish.”

The other $18,240 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division for three-year-old pacing fillies is the evening's third race, with Elm Grove Uncannie favoured at 5-2 from post six. Ken Murphy drives the Joe Baxter trainee for owners Baxter of Kensington and Earith Riley of Summerside, P.E.I. Lila Berry (MacPherson) and Mattnificent Rose (Langille) are other leading contenders.

Three-year-old pacing colts compete in $15,000 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' divisions on the evening card.

Tobins Nibbler is the top choice from the rail in the first division, carded as the fourth race. Jason Hughes drives the colt after back-to-back wins for trainer Ashley Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. 

The second division, the seventh race, has Zero Two Sixty favoured at 5-2 from post three for driver David Dowling, trainer Sifroi Melanson and owner Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.

Shanghai Whiskey receives top billing in the final colt 'A' division in Race 11. Campbell drives the Wade Myers-owned and trained pacer from post three.

The first $10,000 Richard Campbell Memorial Invitational, presented by Reliable Motors, lines up in the eighth with Miki Shan N leaving from the rail for driver MacPherson, trainer Chris MacKay and owners Kap Singh Racing Stable of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., MacRae and Ontario-based owners Stephen Klunowski of North York and Earl Hill Jr. of Ohsweken. Ammo (Campbell) and Arbitrage Hanover (Murphy) are other top entrants.

Get Wings is in the second $10,000 Richard Campbell Memorial Invitational in race 10. Langille drives the Vaughan Doyle trainee from post three for owners Gary Ford of Stratford and Janet Kinney of Wheatley River, P.E.I. Twin B Tuffenuff (Barrieau) and Mappos Lion (Ryan Desroche) will provide the opposition in the field of six.

Atlantic Sires Stakes 'B' divisions are also scheduled throughout the program for $6,000 purses for three-year-old pacing fillies and colts.

Undefeated rookie Woodmere Rock It will put his perfect record on the line Saturday afternoon as the 5-2 morning-line favourite in the first $15,520 'A 'division for two-year-old pacing colts. Gilles Barrieau will guide the Jamie Smith trainee from post five in the second race for owner TheStable Woodmere Rock It of Guelph, Ont.

The son of Tobago Cays is unbeaten in seven lifetime starts and enters Saturday off a 1:56 victory in a gold division of the Joe O’Brien Memorial at Red Shores Summerside. His 1:52.4 lifetime best came over the Charlottetown oval in August in the P.E.I. Colt Stakes.

The Classifier’s Choices complete the order with Southdale Jeff (To be driven by Adam Merner) from post two and Woodmere Dougal (Corey MacPherson) leaving from the rail.

The Post Time Picks likes Woodmere Rock It to keep his perfect record intact.

“Woodmere Rock It has been perfect so far in his career and even recovered from an early break last out to record his seventh win in 2026. He makes the move back to Charlottetown and with Barrieau at the wheel we think the winning streak hits eight straight.”

The second $15,520 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division for rookie pacing colts lines up in the afternoon's sixth with Malicious Benny the 5-2 morning-line favourite from post three. Marc Campbell drives the Earl Watts trainee for owner Wade Peconi of Stanchel, P.E.I. Woodmere Fergus (Jason Hughes) leaves from post four while Camco Kolton (MacPherson) has post five.

The two-year-old pacing fillies compete for $20,300 in each of their 'A' divisions.

Ys Fancy Speed is the 5-2 morning-line choice from the rail in the seventh for trainer Watts and owners Windemere Farms of Springvale and Jack Quinn of Charlottetown, P.E.I. Campbell drives the two-time winner against Lady Of Malice (Paul Langille) from post six and Howmac Lula (Barrieau) from post seven.

The ninth race has Isle Impress You favoured at 5-2 from the rail for driver Ken Murphy, trainer Saul Lanigan and owners Lanigan, Darcy Doyle of Moncton, N.B., Isaac Schurman of Kensington, P.E.I. and Shane Esson of Moncton. Starship Daisy (Langille) is the second choice from post three after winning four of six lifetime starts, while Nauti Beach (David Dowling) leaves from post two.

Atlantic Sires Stakes 'B' divisions for the rookie pacers are featured throughout the remainder of the program for $6,000 purses.
