The final leg of the Prospect Series for three-year-old male pacers was contested on Saturday (Sept. 11) at Hanover Raceway, and Big Teddy made a big statement heading into the Sept. 24 Final.

Sent off as the 6-5 choice, Big Teddy sat the pocket behind Beef N Cheddar (Natasha Day) through fractions of :28.2 and :58.3 before flipping the switch before three-eighths and looping to the lead. Sorrie gave Big Teddy his queue and he responded down the backstretch, opening up four on the field through a 1:27 third station before coasting home in :29.2 to win in 1:56.2. Bettorbeflyin (Travis Henry) was next best some four lengths back with Toughsonofabeach (Brett MacDonald) another four lengths back to nab show.

Big Teddy (Big Jim - Lucky Louisa) boasts two wins in three Prospect Series starts for trainer Tyler Nostadt and owner Blueshoe Investments of Baltic, Oh.

Snap Call enjoyed a pocket ride behind Sights On You (Jason Ryan) in his Prospect Series division, and then was right-lined by driver Brett MacDonald at the head of the lane to power past the pacesetter for the 1:59.1 decision. Sights On You stayed for second with Sauble Attack (Travis Henry) closing well for third.

A son of Shadow Play - Malocchio, Snap Call picked up his first Prospect Series win and second score of the season for trainer Rebecca Geisel, who co-owns with Rick Rier of Hanover, Ont.

P L Oliver captured the third Prospect division for owner / trainer Matt Dupuis and driver Jason Ryan. Ryan left stoutly with P L Oliver, yielded briefly to the favoured Harpers Hat Trick (Travis Henry) and then reclaimed the lead through the opening :28 quarter. After a :58.3 half, P L Oliver repelled a strong challenge from Mr John through a 1:27.3 third quarter and then held off Partyintheshadows (Colin Kelly) for an impressive 1:57.4 victory.

P L Oliver (Sportswriter - P L Gotcha) picked up his third win of his sophomore season after a winless six-start rookie campaign.

The top nine point earners from the five regular season events earn a berth in the Sept. 24 finale at Grand River Raceway.
