Legacy Racing of Delaware and Reggie Hazzard's Papa Ray was a 1:51.4 winner in the $13,000 featured pace Monday at Harrington Raceway.
The eight-year-old Village Jolt stallion received a garden journey and held off the game race favourite Framed Art, who was outside most of the mile for a narrow win. It was the 39th career win for Papa Ray ($8.20, Victor Kirby), who is conditioned by Wayne Givens. Millenium Wheel was third.
The sixth race, won by Kiss A Dragon, was named in honour of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, who was enjoying their annual night at the races.
The draw for the Bobby Quillen Memorial, the marquee race of the year at Harrington, will be held Tuesday as some of racing's top older pacers are expected to compete in this year's $150,000 event.
