Feeling You overpowered the Open pacing mares to score a victory at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Tuesday night. The race carried the night’s top purse of $50,000.
Leaving from the inside post in a field of seven, Feeling You went to the front and didn’t look back for driver Tyler Buter in a career-best clocking of 1:49.3. She won by 1-3/4 lengths over Ticket To Rock, with Breakheart Pass finishing third. The performance was just a fifth of a second off the track record for older pacing mares.
Amber Buter trains the five-year-old daughter of Cambest-Ripreza Hanover for the partnership of Tyler Buter, Gallicchio Racing Stb LLC and Jill Cannella. The win was the tenth of the season and the 22nd lifetime triumph. She went over $500,000 in lifetime earnings thanks to the $25,000 payday.
Due to Octoberfest, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will not hold live harness racing the remainder of the week.
Live racing will resume Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Patrons can still watch and wager as usual at simulcast and off track wagering facilities.
