With some musical motivation provided by London, Ont. teacher and horseman Steve Revington, a 10-year-old girl named Faith Abbey is on a 100-kilometre quest through Southwestern Ontario to raise money and awareness for child cancer research.

Revington wrote and produced a song for Faith and her fundraising campaign called Faith's Footsteps. Faith is a cancer survivor herself and has been a student of Revington's for the last two years.

"Faith fought and beat liver cancer at the age of two and now wants to give back," Revington told Trot Insider. "She is a real hero."

Faith and her father Dave will be raising money for Child Can by taking part in the 100-kilometre walk from London, Ont. to Sarnia, Ont. from Sept. 9-11.

Revington's song was released on iTunes last Friday to help support the cause and can be downloaded for $0.99 cents. All proceeds will go to Child Can/Faith's Footsteps.

"The title for 'Faith & Believe' was created when I asked Faith what words or phrases come to mind when you and your family were going through such difficult times," said Revington. "Without hesitation Faith replied, 'Faith and believe, and oh yeah, hope.' This was the foundation of the song."
