There was no stopping driver Aaron Merriman during Monday evening’s card of racing at Northfield Park, as the productive reinsman racked up an eight-win performance on the 15-race card.
Merriman got the ball rolling in Race 2 with Can Repeat ($4.00) and he tacked on wins with The Northern Dude ($3.40) in Race 3, Regil Tiger ($3.60) in Race 5, Scootnfordamoney ($3.60) in Race 6, Fluff Me Up ($4.80) in Race 9, Majo Christmasgift ($4.40) in Race 11, Rustys No Fool ($3.40) in Race 13 and Click Boom ($7.80) in Race 15.
Merriman is having a stellar year in 2015. He has won a total 568 races so far this year, more than any other driver in North America. Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. (531), George Napolitano, Jr. (507), Bruce Aldrich, Jr. (467) and Corey Callahan (464) complete the top-five winningest drivers in North America this season.
Last year Merriman became the youngest inductee ever enshrined in Northfield Park’s Wall of Fame at age 36. He has also won more races than any other driver in the track’s 58-year history. Aaron began driving in 1997 and has since garnered 7,533 career victories and is approaching $42.5 million in total purse earnings.
