Reys N A Commotion pushed his win streak to seven with a wire-to-wire romp in the $11,560 MSSBA Futurity Final for three-year-olds on Saturday at Holland Fair.

With Don Howlett in the sulky for trainer/breeder Richard Rey, favourite Reys N A Commotion left from post five and carved out fractions of :30.1, 1:01.3 and 1:33.2 en route to a four and a half length victory in 2:02.2. Filly Throw The Bouquet and fellow Roland Rey trainee Another Great Pick (Dean Rey) finished second and third respectively.

The son of Armbro Trench out of Thunderbird now boasts eight wins and two seconds in 10 starts this year with earnings totalling $18,847. Howlett shares ownership of the consistent colt with Trevor and Michael Williams of Winnipeg, MB.

The red-hot team of Rey, Howlett and the Williams also watched Julie Caesar take the $2,900 MHHI Mares Stake Final just a couple races later.

The four-year-old Dudes Leaving Town-Julie Seelster mare rallied three-wide at the third quarter mark and kicked away from the field to a three and three-quarter length victory in 2:01. Pacesetter Flight Delay (Roland Rey) finished second with Artxzipit (Dean Rey) rounding out the top three finishers.

Both stakes wins bookended a natural hat trick for reinsman Howlett.

The winning connections came close to sweeping Saturday's feature events, with favourite Mackenzie Seelster leading for most of the mile in the earlier $2,500 MHHI Claiming Series Final. However, Cheyenne Dusk converted from the pocket to prevail by a neck in 2:02.2 for the Ismans. The eight-year-old Astreos-Book Smart gelding is owned by driver Garett Isman, trainer George Isman and Tara Isman of Gladstone, MB. Meadowlarks Legacy (Marc Fillion) finished three lengths behind in third.
